No matter how you look at it—helping youngsters is as vital a commitment as any of us can make.

The way PACT helps at risk 9-15 year olds is to replace the futility of street life and truancy with innovative, structured, one-on-one mentored personal achievments.

PACT’s acclaimed 13-year-old Work Ethics Education Program (WE) – evenings and weekends, year-round – provides a structured, one-on-one, adult-mentored work-like experience. Our coached kids acquire social skills, determination, how to present themselves, grow self esteem, and are acculturated – while earning money weekly, monthly outings, and, if needed, tutoring with their homework.

In PACT’s new Life & Education Empowerment Program (LEEP), children discover which of the 24 learning abilities we measure they are really good at and which need work (as assessed through three hours of timed numeric, word, and graphic puzzle segments). Then, once a week for 10 weeks, each child has a mentor to help them puzzle their way through the 150-page workbook derived from his/her initial personal assessment. A post three-hour assessment evaluates how they’ve improved. Forever, they are aware of their learning abilities. It’s like learning how to ride a bike.

PACT has great ambitions that our structured, one-on-one way to personal achievement will transform many more youngsters – and enrich you, if you become one of our mentors.

(We have a third program in mind for computer geeks.)
